Confirmation Experience

So Confirmation is somewhat new to me in that I grew up in churches that didnt do confirmation.  We had a confirmation service tonight for 120 5th - 12th grade students at WC and it was quite special!  In our church, Confirmation is the time when students “firm up” their faith, or own thier faith for themselves.  Many are walking into their infant baptismal vows that their parents spoke over them many years ago.  It was a beautiful experience seeing students decide to folow Jesus as they become young adults.  The most memorable part was when a 5th grade boy knelt at the alter to be confirmed, and out of nowhere came 5 of his buddies rushing the stage to lay hands on him in support and agreement.

I wonder where these kids will be 5 years from now?  My prayer is that their knowledge of God would grow and that they would follow Christ with such passion and vigor that they would be world changers and agents of his love and grace…i cant wait to see the future for these kids.

Great book on Forgiveness that I mentioned at Sr. Bible Study
Description: “For all of us who have been wounded by another and struggled to understand and move beyond our feelings of hurt and anger, Lewis Smedes’s classic book on forgiveness shows that it is possible to heal our pain and find room in our hearts to forgive. Breaking down the process of healing into four stages and offering stories of real people’s experience throughout, this wise book provides hope and solace for all who long for the peace that comes with forgiveness.”

Mobile Church States

Mobile Church Stats

•    At the start of last year, 3.3 billion people were mobile phone users.
•    This is a global phenomenon and contrary to what many believe, “global” actually includes the US :) 13-17-year-olds in the US send/receive an average of 1,742 sms messages each month.
•    EVERY populated area on Earth is affected by the growth of mobile usage.  So mobile is really both global and local.
